Role Description
About the Role
You will contribute to the delivery of the Innovate-UK/ATI-funded project: ULTRA CLEAN CAST DLMM. The project aims to develop a Digital Liquid Metal Manufacturing (DLMM) system which will build on the fundamental capabilities of the shape-casting process, and also dramatically improve process and component quality and predictability to enable the manufacture of cast components with performance and repeatability to be comparable to, or better, than Machined from Solid (MFS). This research post will focus on the development of simulation models for the casting systems under development.
About You
You will be educated to doctoral level (or close to completion) in a relevant subject and have experience in manufacturing processes modelling and simulation. You will have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, together with good technical writing skills. With a developing track record of publishing in high quality journals, you will also have a demonstrable, deep understanding of your own research field and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary groups. Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure project milestones and deliverables are delivered to time and to a high quality are also essential in this role.
In return, you will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key position, and to be at the forefront of world leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.
