Postdoctoral Associate

Summary
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available for a self-motivated and driven scientist. The ideal candidate has experience in or is expected to quickly learn common molecular biology techniques, cell culture, drug screening, mouse tissue handling, and in-vivo genetic manipulations. The candidate is expected to be comfortable working independently under the guidance of the PI, as well as by directing or delegating to other lab members, to plan, conduct, analyze, and present/publish molecular, cellular, and in-vivo experiments to accomplish the research goals of the lab.
Job Duties
· Plans, conducts, and analyzes experiments involving molecular and cellular biology under guidance of the PI.
· Maintains cell and tissue cultures.
· Plans, co-ordinates, and maintains oversight of drug screens.
· Plans, co-ordinates, and maintains oversight of rodent husbandry to generate cohorts for in-vivo experiments.
· Performs in-vivo genetic manipulations and in-vivo experimental procedures.
· Handles and processes rodent tissue.
· Engineers and directs generation of plasmids and viral vectors for use in cell culture experiments.
· Writes manuscripts and presents experimental results to the scientific community.
· Assists with the preparation of grant proposals and applications.
· Supervises and directs technical research personnel in the laboratory.
· Communicates and co-ordinates with administrative personnel and the PI to accomplish the research goals of the laboratory.
· Directs technical laboratory personnel under the guidance of the PI to plan, perform, and analyze experiments, maintain cell and tissue cultures, maintain rodent colonies, conduct in-vivo experiments, handle and process tissues, generate plasmids and viral vectors for experimental purposes, and any other work required to accomplish the laboratory's research goals.
· Co-ordinates their work with other senior researchers in the lab.
· Work will involve in-vivo and ex-vivo mouse tissue.
Minimum Qualifications
· MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
· No experience required.
