Job Description

University of Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame (https://jobs.nd.edu) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Education, Poverty, and Language and Literacy.

Applications will be accepted until 01/31/2024.

The Pulte Institute for Global Development, an integral part of the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, combines the existing world-class teaching and research faculty of Notre Dame with a dedicated staff of experienced international development professionals, administrators, and researchers in order to address global poverty and inequality through policy, practice, and partnership.

The Pulte Institute for Global Development is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to research related to international education and foundational learning in developing countries. The research builds upon a growing initiative of the Pulte Institute in collaboration with Notre Dame's Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child to conduct multi-country studies and disseminate findings to scholarly and policy-facing communities. The focus areas of key projects are on strengthening foundational skills for vulnerable populations and include: multilingual education policy, foundational literacy and math, education for deaf learners, socio-emotional learning, and teacher support and well-being. The research may include field work and will involve collaboration with scholars to conduct research for and from a range of countries and include opportunities to advance a candidate's scholarly publication record. The successful candidate is expected to disseminate findings via peer reviewed manuscripts and conference presentations in collaboration with supervisor/research teams.

This is a full-time position. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will have a hybrid work arrangement (partly remote, partly in person) to be agreed upon with the Principal Investigators. The position is for one year, with a possible extension for up to three years, depending on performance and availability of funding. The Fellow will be expected to travel to and work in project field sites for several weeks per year. The position will be supervised by Dr. TJ D'Agostino.
