Join our cutting-edge regenerative medicine research team!
We are actively seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to contribute to our dynamic environment, backed by substantial grants from NIH and NSF. Utilizing a blend of biomaterial design, microtechnology, nanotechnology, mechanobiology, stem cell biology, and genetic approaches, the candidate will explore the fundamental mechanisms of tissue regeneration and develop advanced therapeutics for injuries, degeneration, and fibrosis in pulmonary, vascular, immune, and skeletal systems. The key research areas include: precision engineering of cellular microenvironments (e.g. doi.org/10.1002/advs.202001066) and single cell encapsulation therapy (e.g. doi.org/10.1038/s41551-021-00740-x); engineering immunomodulation and tissue remodeling (e.g. doi.org/10.1126/sciadv.aaw0158); controlling extracellular vesicle-based therapeutic delivery (e.g. doi.org/10.1038/s41565-020-0636-2) and biomanufacturing (e.g. doi.org/10.1021/acsnano.1c03231). The Principal Investigator (PI) will foster a collaborative and inclusive research environment, supporting the candidate’s career development through paper preparation, fellowship applications, and national/international presentations.
Department
The laboratory is centrally located within the Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine at the College of Medicine (http://mcph.uic.edu).
