About the Role
The Blavatnik School of Government is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Minerva Global Security Programme: Contested Cross-border Spaces, Illicit Flows, and Order in the Contemporary World.
We work across different levels of analysis ranging from the local, and national, to the transnational and global level, with a particular focus on Ukraine/Russia, South Asia, the Middle East, the Horn of Africa, the Andean Region, and the Golden Triangle. The role would suit a researcher with regional expertise in the Middle East and an excellent grounding in security studies.
You will spearhead fieldwork coordination, conducting interviews and surveys in the Middle East, as well as the data analysis and writing up of findings. It is anticipated that the post holder will co-author one or more research papers with the Principal Investigator.
About You
You will hold a PhD/DPhil, or be close to completion, along with relevant experience in International Relations, Area Studies, Middle East studies or security studies.
You should be skilled in fieldwork coordination in the Middle East, with strong interdisciplinary knowledge for collaborative research programmes and ability to manage your own project-related research and administrative activities.
Excellent communication skills for writing and presentation skills, with the ability to contribute ideas for new research projects, are essential.
