About the Role Develop and advance a research agenda focused on primary school mental health and well-being, under the direct supervision of Associate Professor Jon Quach and Dr Georgia Dawson. You will be based within the Learning Intervention Academic Group of the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne. The role will focus on developing, implementing, evaluating novel approaches to understanding how schools support the mental health and well- being of their students. You will conduct increasingly independent research in a highly collaborative environment, leading to the preparation and publication of research outcomes in leading conferences and journals. In addition, you will be supported to apply for collaborative and independent research grants (e.g. ARC DECRA) towards the second half of this position.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Working directly with academic supervisors to develop and execute a research agenda related to student mental health in primary schools, such as MTSS
· Preparing ethics applications
· Contributing to and leading research publications, reports and dissemination activities
Who We Are Looking For You should have a strong record of contributions to peer-reviewed publications, considering the opportunities available. Additionally, you must demonstrate proven experience in coordinating research projects, ensuring adherence to ethical standards. Strong experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, specifically in at least one of quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods designs, is crucial. Superior organizational and time management skills are also essential for success in this role.
You will also have:
· A PhD qualification in an appropriate field (eg education, wellbeing, psychology or other Allied Health), awarded in the past 3 years
· Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive team culture
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to meet agreed deadlines and achieve project goals, both within and outside the University
