Positions as postdoc in primary liver cancer metabolomics and data integration are available for motivated and independent candidate in the Andersen Group at BRIC.
Our research/The group The focus of our research is translational hepatology within liver diseases and progression to liver and biliary tract cancers to elucidate the underlying pathogenesis of these malignancies. We emphasize on modeling disease causality, stratifying patients for advancing diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, and novel therapeutic options.
The Andersen group is divided into three main project themes: i ) immunogenomics, ii ) metabolism, and iii ) epigenomic remodeling, in which we often are utilizing genome-wide approaches, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics.
The Andersen group aims to improve clinical decision-making, early diagnosis, and thus, ultimately patient's outcomes through translational and pharmacogenomics discoveries. This goal is facilitated in our group via interdisciplinary research, close contact to hospitals and industry, as well as strong national and international networks.
Project/The research project(s) The successful candidate will join an international and interdisciplinary research group that views the patient first, utilizing omics technologies, high-throughput robotics screening, as well as approaches in patient-derived 3D cell culturing and in vivo models. This project will include global metabolomics, metabolic spatial imaging (MALDI-MSI), transcriptomics and more.
A requirement for this position is an established track record in metabolomics, data analysis and integration with strong prior experience within liver cancer biology. Emphasis will be given to a candidate with a proven background in metabolomics analysis and liver biology.
Start: 1 August 2024 or after agreement
Duration: 2 years (with possible extension based on performance)
Qualifications We expect you to be a highly motivated and highly ambitious scientist with the following qualifications:
· A PhD (or alike) in life sciences (metabolomics).
· Documented experience in bioinformatics.
· Previous experience in e.g., Hepatology (liver and/or bile duct biology).
· Knowledge of broad range omics approaches (focus on metabolic process and data analysis).
· The candidate is independently able to envision, plan and execute research project.
· Ability to function in a collaborative environment is essential since our group is multi-disciplinary and involved in many collaborations at national and international level.
