One postdoctoral scientist position is available in the Bioengineering Laboratory for Nanomedicine and Tissue Engineering at the George Washington University. Our research integrates a range of interdisciplinary technologies and advanced approaches in 3D/4D bioprinting, nanotechnology, and stem cells for complex tissue/organ regeneration, soft biorobotics, and various disease treatments.
The postdoctoral scientist will employ bioprinting, biomaterials, and stem cells, to fabricate complex bioprinted tissues and evaluate them in vitro. Additionally, the scientist will design, organize, and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments using established scientific protocols and techniques, troubleshoot and design new protocols, summarize findings, publish results in research journals, and present at conferences, under the general supervision of a faculty member. The postdoctoral scientist will assume general responsibility for general scientific operations in the research group, and provide supervision and guidance to graduate, undergraduate students, and trainees.
The postdoctoral scientist should have a PhD or MD in biomedical, materials science, chemistry, engineering, or related fields. Previous experience in 3D/4D bioprinting for cardiovascular/neural regeneration is desirable.
