Full time Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the tumor immunology lab of Sana Karam, MD, PhD, at Washington University, Department of Radiation Oncology.
The position will involve translational research aimed at understanding immunological mechanisms of response and resistance in the tumor microenvironment. Position will include conducting research experiments, data management, molecular biology assays, writing grants and papers, and other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Trains under the supervision of a faculty mentor including (but not limited to):
Conduct research experiments using animal models and a variety of immunology and molecular biology assays and techniques.
Write grants, papers, posters. Present research findings.
Provide training and mentoring as needed to graduate students, fellows, postdocs, residents, PRAs and student workers.
Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Required Qualifications
Funding for this project is through an NIH T32 training grant, which requires that the individual to be trained must be a citizen or a noncitizen national of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
Knowledge of flow cytometry and other immunological techniques.
Experience with cell culture, ELISpot assays, Tetramer staining, adoptive transfer studies, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, PCR and animal models, including handling, colony management and genotyping is highly desired.
