Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Wearable Diagnostics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
The Ray Research Group at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified recent Ph.D. graduate in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field to join our multidisciplinary team focused on developing advanced additive manufacturing techniques.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will engage in innovative research involving new additive manufacturing methods and new polymer composite materials for use in additive manufacturing. This project will involve designing and tuning polymer composite compositions for use in 3D printing of nanocomposites. The position demands expertise in the following areas:
Polymer and materials science
Composite materials
Additive manufacturing methods
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize new nanocomposite material systems
Develop new additive manufacturing methods
Conduct independent research and contribute to high-quality publications
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in polymer chemistry, chemical synthesis, or materials chemistry.
Experience with nanomaterials and nanocomposites.
Experience working with additive manufacturing equipment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
Demonstrated creativity in problem-solving with strong initiative.
Proven track record of high-quality research and publications.
